Think on These
Things
by Tom McLemore
William Penn once observed, "Right is right, even if everyone is against it; and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it."
Things that most people used to think were wrong are now considered to be right and vice versa. With increasing momentum our society is moving toward the apostle Paul’s description of the pagan world in which he lived: ". . . though they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools..." (Romans 1:21, 22).
Regardless of the listless movements of morality among men, "...God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this inscription: ‘The Lord knows those who are his,’ and, ‘Let everyone who calls on the name of the Lord turn away from wickedness’" (2 Timothy 2:19). And how do we know what is right and wrong? We may proclaim to the LORD: "My tongue will sing of your promise, for all your commandments are right" (Psalm 119:172).
