Think on These
Things
by Tom McLemore
Question:
Dear Sir, what will heaven be like?Answer:
Heaven is a spiritual place. Nothing physical, temporal, or material exists there. This eliminates all that brings unhappiness here (age, decay, sickness, death, loss, pain, etc.). Any descriptions of the world to come in terms of physical things are figurative and given in order to accommodate our natural limitations. Heaven is the dwelling place of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. That implies that nothing evil or impure can exist there, because God can have no fellowship with such. Only righteousness dwells there (2 Peter. 3:13). And since there is nothing evil there, no unhappiness or pain will be present there. Sin is the origin of all sorrow, pain, and death. Therefore, heaven is a place of absolute joy, happiness, and bliss. Jesus is the only way you can go to heaven (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). He paid the penalty for sins and made going to heaven possible. If you are not in Christ, confess faith in him, repent of your sins, and be baptized into him today!
